We are referring to your children and how important it is to put faith in their precious lives. If your situation is good then you "have a good child", if your circumstances are bad then you have "a bad child".
I want children to know who God is, to whom they relate, and how they have an abundant life for them. Here are some short life-giving phrases that I have used over the years with children, as well as some others that I have gathered from some of my lovely experiences.
“I see God working in your life.”
“I love you and Jesus loves you most of all.”
“God is always with you!”
“You are a beloved child of the King!”
“You are a gift from God.”
“You can do all things through Christ who gives you strength!”
“God has a good plan for your life.”
“You are strong in the Lord!”
“With God, all things are possible!”
“You are fearfully and wonderfully made.”
“You are loved – no matter what. There is nothing you can do that will change that.”
“Jesus loves spending time with you and so do I.”
“Let me pray for/with you.”
“Trust God with (insert here – this situation, this fear, this desire, etc.).”
“I love that God helped you (insert here something that your child did – be creative, work hard, think of others, do the right thing, bless someone, sacrifice something that meant a lot to them, be kind to a sibling) today!”
“God is concerned about every detail of your life.”
“There is so much grace for you.”
“I’m sorry – will you forgive me?” This is for when WE make mistakes and sin against them – our kids NEED to know that we are sinners and in need of a Savior – just like them, and “It is finished.”
“Thank you, God, for this precious boy/girl!”
“I am so happy/proud/honored/blessed that God made me your parent.”
We think of children, children are introverted learners, open and eager to receive the messages they hear - to know who they are and what life is all about. We know from our own experience, that they get a lot of messages to heal, making them feel less than sufficient and inaccessible. But in life we give them the foundation of truth for identifying children, which gives them Need to face the blazing arrow that comes every day! And we can do this by speaking God's truth through them.
Can children dare to step outside their comfort zone, believing that God will be with you wherever you go. They can experience God's presence, faith and deep love for themselves as you learn to live as a person of faith.
Children, do you know that even God, though he was fully God, lived a life of service. May the child become like him, eyes to see the needs around him, a kindness we are willing to respond to and also humility to serve in a secret and vague manner.
